    In the link below, I have uploaded some deep breathing exercises, which is a form of meditation.

    The breath is the only part of your autonomic nervous that yuo can also control manually.

    When you are in fight or flight, you breath becomes shallow and rapid. When you are relaxed, your breath is slow and deep. You can’t be in a relaxed state if your breath is rapid and shallow. And you can’t be in sympathetic nervous state if your breath is deep and slow.

    So deep breathing triggers the relaxation response, or the parasympathetic nervous system in the same way that massage does.

    If I am having anxiety, I just close my eyes (unless I’m driving) and do one of these exercises for a couple of minutes and the anxiety stops.
