    Everybody knows that proper supplementation has to go hand in hand with a good diet. There hasn’t been much on this topic, and I’m sure people would like to know what nutrients our diet should be focusing on. The list is not exhaustive, and I hope people on the forum can eventually make this thread very long as an ongoing process of adjusting our diets to facilitate healing from overmasturbation. After all, we all gotta learn how to eat right too.

    I know for sure that one session of masturbation will not only deplete neurotransmitters, but also Vitamin A, Zinc, and Magnesium.

    Generally, masturbation coupled with a lack of sleep increases stress on your body and leads to the depletion of these nutrients, but probably for everything else as well.     I always start my day with some plain oatmeal, sprinkled with organic cinnamin, a banana, and a protein shake, along with all my supplements.



    My breakfast is very similar. I have about 3/4 cup of plain oatmeal in water along with a protein shake mixed in skim milk and 4 teaspoons of flax seed oil.



    There were many nice points.

    I have seen that Qi is produced from the foods we eat. Without working spleen and stomach the benefits from the nutrients can be zero. Here is a good list about functions of different foods. I think we should have increased libido after eating delicious meal, to be sure that everything is working.

    There are other factors too regarding the eating like:

    -how the food is prepared

    -how much eat and drink ( too much is not good )

    -eating only organic high quality foods ( if I were farmer, I would surely choose land which is fertile than land where nothing actually grows well )

    -food must taste good ( to support spleen function )

    -if extrement is unformed, there certainly are problems with digestive function

    -eating too much raw/cold foods will deplete stomach energy ( yang type ) resulting in real exhaustion

    -drinking too much hot drinks will deplete yin

    -too spicy foods will give rising liver yang killing ( vital ) lung yin qi ( dry, bitter, sore mouth )



    Yes, it’s nice to know from your links that sweet and spicy foods increase stressful yang energy, and that salty/sour/bitter foods provide Yin energy. I roughly understand now that eating sweets = increases “damp heat,” which worsens all the digestive troubles from overmasturbation. However, I believe it has a lot to do with body type. Based on the chinese calendar, I was born on a water day, thus salt is maybe where I should begin to regain Yin energy.

    That’s the food equivalent of Choline supplements: Lecithin. It’s also doesn’t affect body odour the same way plain choline supplements do, and has the bonus of protecting cells in numerous ways. You could probably buy lecithin supplements without any sense of looking odd, because it’s considered a food additive.

    So, I recommend lecithin as another way to naturally reacquire neurotransmitters through diet. But please note that eggs and soy, the foods which supplemental lecithin are extracted from, do have controversy in the chinese herbal community. They may have other effects other than providing lecithin alone when eaten in excess, so I guess supplementing lecithin is a more specific form of nutrition targeting acetylcholine production.

    I have heard though, that phosphatidyl choline has more potency than lecithin because most lecithin capsules are 30% oil and have a bad taste to it. However, it is a reasonable tradeoff considering that lecithin also provides vitamin B5, which is needed in acetylcholine synthesis.



    Based on yinyang’s link ( [MOD EDIT: URL Removed] ), the delicate balance of Yin (cool/calming) and Yang (warm/energizing) energy from food is part of the process in healing from overmasturbation. This is a good conceptual perspective to start from. So far, the site suggests:

    -never eating any one food/vitamin/mineral in excess

    -cook all foods, and eat only when feeling hungry/thirsty

    -cold foods deplete yang, warm foods deplete yin, or both yin/yang together

    -room temperature water/food is the best

    -4-6 cups of fluid is important for cleaning system out

    -whole grains and barley aid spleen/stomach in rectifying digestive problems

    -eating chicken/fruits/vegetables

    -having green tea cool you down (yin), and black/red tea to warm you up (yang).

    -avoiding sweet/spice/alcohol/processed dairy/red meat

    -avoiding goitrogenic (damp heat) foods: Broccoli, Brussel sprouts, Cabbage, Cauliflower, Kale, Kohlrabi, Mustard, Rutabaga, Turnips, Millet, Peaches, Peanuts, Pineapple, Radishes, Soybean and soy products (i.e tofu), Spinach, Strawberries.

    I usually recommend sea salt.



    although excessive dairy produce dampness, little milk ( organic of course prefered ) is useful for building essence, it has descending action moistening and tonifying stomach, lungs and heart. Its yin or neutral in nature.



    If you find that only few foods keep your health, then you should keep it simple and eat those foods. For many people, there aint no other option if digestion is bad.

    Potatoes are the best for strengthening the spleen. Spleen likes the deep sweet flavour of root vegetables especially sweet and yellow potatoes.

    They should be boiled in sea salt and eat with a little butter. They can be eaten in the morning and evening to provide good night sleeping. There is even this theory about how eating potatoes before sleeping increases various neurochemical-precursors uptake.

    currently I’m on a low GI diet high lecithin, I’m trying to avoid refined sugar and sugary foods altogether, I completely eliminated caffeine drinks from my diet.

    For breakfast I have 3/4 cup muesli(sugar free), two raw egg yolks which I usually mix into milk and add flavourants to it before drinking it, and finally an apple. (go for a low GI, high lecithin breakfast)

    For supper, potatoes or brown rice with either tuna, chicken or beans and some steamed mixed veg or green salad.

    I have also cut down on red meat.

    so far so good, coming off sugar and caffeine was a bit difficult though.

    I eat high fat inc saturated and protein with only small amount of grains. Eggs / avocado / butter / cheese for breakfast, dark chocolate, brazil nuts, salmon for snacks, some berries, banana

    Big T-bones with all the fat most days for dinner with stir fried veggies usually with butter or coconut oil.

    This is great for energy and muscle building – like adding bulk.

    The previous low fat / protein low cholesterol diet ruined my life. I suffered for years shit libido, muscle ache, fatigue, depression ,anxiety, IBS and eventually muscle shrinkage and wastage . My OCD tendencies made it even worse: calorie restriction to stay slim for years but always ended up getting fatter .

    I cannot stress enough to get plenty of fat and calories . Restriction will trash and depress the hormonal system .
